As every veteran who has applied for benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) knows, there is a tremendous backlog in claims processing. While the VA’s goal of processing all claims within 125 days is undoubtedly a positive initiative, veterans need to be aware that the VA also has inordinately high error rate in their Rating Decisions. As the linked Washington Times Article comments, the push to expedite claims processing time on already overburdened VA examiners may result in an increase in that error rate. If you receive a Rating Decision or are confused about the status of your VA compensation or pension claim, please do not hesitate to contact me for a free consultation at sdirector@FRE-L.com or (732) 382-6070.
