The New Jersey Supreme Court will be setting up a guardianship monitoring program that will be fully implemented in all 21 counties by November 2013. Volunteers will review yearly reports and flag questionable changes for the County Surrogates.
“It’s wonderful that there will be the help and oversight of yearly reports that people need. Guardians can be overwhelmend with the amount of information that they have to provide and that can lead to mistakes in reporting between the 90 day report and the yearly report. Being a guardian is not a second-nature thing,” says Jean Zimmer, a legal assistant who oversees guardinaships for the firm. If you are a guardian and not sure how to put together your yearly reports, please give us a call.
