BIOGRAPHY
Eugene Rosner joined the Firm in 1978. During his long career, he served the elderly, the disabled of all ages, and those in need of mediation or guardianship. Gene retired at the end of 2020.
A long time practitioner in Elder Law and its related practice areas, Gene brought his experience to bear on every case that he took on. Never afraid to litigate, Gene scored numerous successes at the trial and appellate level, including: W.T. V. DMAHS, 391 N.J. Super. 25, 916 A.2d 1066 (App. Div. 2007) and J.P. V. DMAHS, 392 N.J. Super. 295, 920 A.2d 707 (App. Div. 2007)
Gene’s work attracted praise from his clients, his peers, and a plethora of professional bodies. He was selected to the New Jersey Super Lawyers list for Peer Recognition in Elder Law for many years starting in 2007.
Gene was a Certified Elder Law Attorney (C.E.L.A.)* an accreditation from the National Elder Law Foundation. He held certification and awards as a Family Law Mediator, and was a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Guardianship Association of New Jersey, above and beyond his membership in the Union County and New Jersey Bar Associations. Gene received the Marilyn Askin award from the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Elder & Disability Law Section in 2016, in recognition of his contributions to the elder law field over the past 25 years. These positions and accolades reflect his deep-seated commitment to those whom he counselled.
In addition to his client work, Gene shared the lessons of his career with others in the field, regularly delivering seminars, lectures, and classes to the Bar Association and at conferences. These talks drew on his areas of expertise, such as the effects of major life changes on Medicaid planning.
